Shelly Warters
Growing up in South Louisiana, it was impossible to escape its musical influences. I was 10 years old when my parents encouraged me to take guitar lessons. In a very short time, I found myself playing guitar and singing in a Cajun French music band and then fronting my own country band for many years thereafter. A move to Houston, Texas renewed my spirit and it was back to basics of acoustic music. As a part of the duo, Shelly & Julian, experimenting with other music genres was a welcomed challenge. Now, Charleston, South Carolina offers yet another opportunity to enhance my acoustical musical experiences. Through the years, I have developed an eclectic style and mix of tunes with crowd pleasing selections that appeal to anyone that shares my love of music. I continue to admire the legendary talent of Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline, Linda Rondstadt, Fleetwood Mac, Bonnie Raitt, Allison Krauss, Indigo Girls...but aspire to be different from them all.
